A WAHM (Work At Home Mom) has the best of both worlds! She is making money from home and spending time with her kids.

Do you have what it takes to join the ranks of thousands of successful Work At Home Moms across the world?

If you answered ‘yes’ then you are probably right. But before you jump in the deep end, spend some time thinking about these five simple questions to get you started.

Do you know who you are?

There are millions of different ways of making money from home. In order to find the one which will work best for you, you need to know who you are. What is your past experience? What qualifications do you have? What are your natural abilities? interests? talents? Are you creative? Administrative? Do you need to be around people? Or are you happy working alone?

You have something to offer that no-one else can. The most successful work at home moms have discovered what that is and made a business out of it. You can too.

Do you know what you want to accomplish?

You want to become a WAHM. Yes! But when you think about making money from home do you want to earn enough to cover the ‘extras’ (the ballet classes or summer camps) or do you need to earn a second salary – or the main salary for your family?

Do you want to build a business? Or is it a bit extra? It is so important to know what you want to accomplish as a WAHM before you start out. You might not get there straight away – but you know what you are aiming for.

Do you know where you are going with this?

Do you know how to set targets for yourself? Do you know what your short term, medium term and long term goals are ? Do you know what the first step is, to get where you want to go with this? (usually research, research and more research!)

If it is important to know what you are heading toward, it is vital to know where you go next. You will not achieve your goals by wandering hopefully in the general direction of them. Have a plan! Where do you go next?

Do you know when you are going to fit it all in?

You might be asking yourself this already. How does a WAHM manage to build a business – however small – around the diapers, the washing, the cooking and the homework?

It is possible! But you are really going to have a steep learning curve in time management as you start!

It gets easier as the kids grow, but can you plan in sections of time to work on your business during the week (or preferably the day)? It needs to be thought about before you start – especially if you are investing money as well as time.

Do you know whyyou want to be a WAHM?

Work at home moms are the women who don’t have to drop their baby off at daycare every morning, who can be there to read stories before the afternoon nap, or to pick up their kids from school and who can afford to do it without feeling guilty that they should be ‘at work’. Most moms look at ways of making money from home because they want to be there with their kids.

And when the going gets tough – because work at home moms work hard you will need to keep in mind why you are doing this, rather than sitting in a company office downtown. You will need to keep yourself motivated.

And I think maybe it is the ‘why?’ that will most enable you to succeed as a WAHM.

About the Author:

At the end of each year, work at home moms are bombarded with information and challenges to help them set goals and create the business of their dreams in the upcoming months.

But if you’re a Christian work at home mom who is seeking God’s will for her business, you may find many of these techniques just don’t work for you. If you’ve committed your business to God, and are building your business on faith, wordly wisdom won’t hold all the answers you need, and the material goals you set often won’t be achieved.

That is not to say you won’t be successful. I believe very much that God desires for us to be successful and to prosper. It’s just that your success won’t necessarily look or come about the way you expect.

Here are some goals that I set each year that have helped me build a business that puts God first. If you set goals like these, you will be on your way to honoring God in your business and finding your success in Him this year.

1. To spend time with God each day. I have learned to not start my day without a devotional time consisting of Bible reading and prayer. On days I skip my devotions, I just feel “off” for the rest of the day and unprepared for whatever my day brings. During your quiet time, you can ask God to prepare you for the day, give you wisdom for what you’ll face, and to make you ready for any opportunities He’s bringing to you.

2. To build relationships with other Christian business owners. Fellowship together and talk about how you see God working in your businesses. You will feel encouraged and strengthened in your walk of faith.

3. To set proper priorities. It’s easy for me to be consumed by my businesses and my blogs. But I know one of the reasons God wants me at home is to care for my family. If I’m too busy to help my children with their schoolwork, or to talk to my husband about his day at work, that’s a sign my priorities may not be right.

4. To seek wisdom. Learn from experienced work at home moms about how to build a business. But don’t ever assume that what has worked for them will work for you too. Instead, talk to God about what you’re learning and ask for His direction.
sell excess wedding stuff

One of the major problems that new mothers come across is whether to continue to work or stay at home to look after their children. Often, their first instinct is to look after the child, or children, and their overwhelming desire is to play a significant part in their upbringing, especially prior to school age. However, economic factors frequently do not allow this, especially now with the speed at which fuel and food prices are rising.

For many couples, it is therefore rarely possible for the female to stop work altogether to tend to her children. This is not the mother’s fault, much of it being due to the rising cost of living and the expectations of people regarding material wealth to maintain a “decent” lifestyle.

Work from home businesses for mothers are assuming increasing popularity and therefore importance in the world of franchising. Not all are online, but some are because the internet provides a mother with the opportunity to look after her children whilst also earning an income working flexible hours.

The internet has made it a lot easier for those mothers that that cannot face leaving their young ones in the hands of a baby sitter, day care center or in a nursery as it gives them the ability to research and communicate world wide with a click of the mouse.

That is why companies offering various kinds of work from home opportunities have put their focus on mothers. In fact, there is already a term coined to refer to these mothers. Some people call them the “mom-preneurs” while some just call it the “WAHM” which stands for work-at-home-moms. You have probably seen a lot of advertisements by numerous businesses, attracting mothers to try working from home.

One example of a work from home opportunity that many mothers consider is to become an independent contractor or loan officer of mortgage and financing firms.

A lot of companies are now also offering work from home jobs where you can do a lot of the work and research at home. Busy moms need only to report to the office once in a while. This way, mothers can work while their children are busy playing or studying and can resume once their kids are sleep.

Another increasing work from home opportunity is becoming an independent agent for a call center company. Mothers can earn a living with just a computer, phone, and internet. Instead of hiring workers from all over the world, employers are now looking for people who can be independent agents operating from their homes. This saves the company money, and provides employment to mothers that have sacrificed their jobs for their children.

If you are a good artist, there are home illustrator jobs, and also web design franchises available for mothers that can turn their hands to that. For the less talented you can make money doing online surveys and by answering emails and clicking on adverts.

Raising children is a tough job and a full time occupation in itself. I do not know how these women cope running a home business or being in paid employment at the same time!
coupon codes
