Moms and dads (WAHMs/WAHDs) who are working from home are growing in popularity. Many men and women want to be able to spend more time with their families. By having one parent stay home helps to save on day care and so on, yet a second income may be necessary.

Whether or not you work from home is not always an easy decision to make though. Before you do make the decision you will need to take into account a few things.

1)	Is working from home really the right thing for you and your family?

There are some decent benefits to working from home. You get to set your own hours, you no longer have to commute to and from work, and if the kids need you, you are there for them. However, there is a downside to consider. Some days, juggling family time and work time can be difficult, or should I say, a challenge.

2)	Your present financial situation may suffer substantially in the beginning.

Making the WAHM decision may involve leaving a high-paying full-time job in order to work part-time from home while you take care of the kids. You will likely find that there will be some financial adjustments. However, you will no longer be paying day care fees, which will save money.

When you think about, if you can at least make the same amount of money or even more by working part-time from home and looking after the kids yourself, it’s worth it to stay home. And what about all the other perks of raising your own kids while still earning money for the household, there are so many. Remember, they’re only young once, and to be able to stay at home with them is one of the top reasons why men and women choose a WAHM or WAHD career.

To be a successful work at home mom or dad you will need to have the following qualities or at the very least learn to develop them.

1)	Self-motivation and Discipline

If you decide to work from home, your business will fit into one of two categories. You will work as an independent contractor or you will work for yourself. Whichever category you fit in, you will be responsible for your own work schedule. You will require a great deal of self-motivation and be able to work well without having the presence of dominating leadership in your place of work. Even if you do choose to work from home but for another company, you are still responsible for meeting deadlines etc.

2)	Time Management is another good skill to have if you decide to work from home

Each day that you work outside of the home, you know that you are faced with the challenges of what things you will need to get done. For example, laundry, house cleaning, taking the kids from one recreational event to another, the list is endless.

When you are working from home and if you focus too much time on your work, your household duties will suffer and vice versa. Acquiring good time management skills will assist you in tackling the many different challenges of working from home.

A lot of thought and consideration needs to go into making the WAHM decision. If you are thinking of working from home for any reason, be it to spend more time with the family or other financial reasons. Take some time and write down the pros and cons to be considered. Discuss the idea with your family; be sure that you are doing the right thing for the whole family.

There are many resources online for anyone who is looking to learn more about the realities of working from home. Once you have thought-through your position and completed the essential research, you will then be much better equipped to make the right decision for you and your family.
summer wedding favors

All you have to do is search the words home work jobs in your favorite search engine to realize how hard it is to find them. What you end up finding are websites that say avoid scams, earn $200 a day, earn $50-$75 an hour, and so on.

So what does it all mean? Where are all the work at home jobs?

2 websites I have come across that are legitimate are:

1. Tjobs.com

2. Wahm.com/jobs.html

I would venture to say that 90% of the work at home job websites are just websites trying to sell you information. What happens is people in desperate situations will break down and spend their last $50 to buy a book that shows them how to do data entry at home, or type at home.

What you end up with is a book that sends you on a wild goose chase producing very little results that you can actually use to work at home.

Realistically there are all kinds of home work jobs that you can do. Here’s a short list: website design, ghost writer, graphic design, customer service, sales, software design, telemarketing, and so on. It’s not that there are not jobs you can do from home. It is just that finding the employers is difficult.

If you possess specific skills, you are better off to put together a resume and start e-mailing it to every company within 30 miles of your front door. Then get on the phone and start calling the ones that appeal to you.

It is becoming more commonplace for companies to ask their employees to work at home. Many times this is on a commission basis. You get to stay at home and work, the companies pay you for the work that you do, and it is a win-win situation.

The real savings to many businesses are that they no longer have to pay for your benefits like vacation days, retirement plan, and so on. Your real benefit is you do not have to commute back and forth to work everyday.

One other home work job you should not discount is starting your own home business combining the Internet with affiliate marketing and blogging. This is a great way for you to control your own time and start your own business.

Although you are not guaranteed any specific income at first, you can develop this into the most desirable and profitable work you will ever do at home.

In summary, do not pay any for a list of employers looking to hirer workers. Contact businesses in your area by picking up the phone and calling them. Or better yet, start your own home business, combining blogging and affiliate marketing online to create more money than you have ever made in your life.

search at google

Having a Stay Home Mom Job has changed my life. Let me share my story.

The whole time my kids were little, I worked a very demanding full time job in Corporate America and every single day I struggled to keep all the balls in the air.

Day in and day out I tried desperately to balance work with home, but somehow work always won which left me feeling very unfulfilled and guilty.

I started looking for work from home business ideas that would allow me to earn a respectable income without sacrificing time with family and friends. I was pretty sure that having an Internet business was the way to go but I had no idea how to get started.

Then I found a book on Affiliate Marketing and everything fell into place.

Affiliate Marketing means you promote other people’s products, and if a customer buys, you get a cut of the sale. At first I was just intrigued with the idea, but I quickly became totally sold after I found out you do not have to:

Build fancy websites

Hold inventory

Pack boxes

Fulfill orders or

Man phone lines

It seemed too good to be true. I had absolutely no website building experience, did not have a product to sell or a lot of money to spend. And I certainly did not want the hassle of holding inventory, shipping items or being tied to an 800 number!

Affiliate Marketing is the perfect stay at home Mom job. It has allowed me, a Mom who was completely inexperienced in the on-line business world, to quit a Corporate America job and build a website business from the ground up.

How I Got Started

When I was first starting out, I spent about a month reading everything I could get my hands including The Affiliate Masters Course which is a must read if you are interested in Affiliate Marketing as a stay at home Mom job.

This eBook is currently being offered, along with 2 other eBooks, TOTALLY FREE OF CHARGE (see Author’s box below). You will get:

The Affiliate Masters Course (182 page eBook)

The WAHM Masters Course (82 page eBook written by other WAHMs)

The Netwriting Masters Course (48 page eBook)

It wasn’t long after I read these eBooks that I decided to go for it. The next step in my education process was to learn how to build a very basic website. Not a big fancy site, just a basic site would do.

IMPORTANT POINT: The website can be basic but it has to be good enough to attract customers. Remember Affiliate Marketing is based on attracting customers so you can promote other people’s products. You can’t just slap up any ‘ole website.

Throughout my initial research, Site Build It! was referred to as the perfect solution for creating an Affiliate Marketing business, especially for inexperienced stay at home Moms.

Every time I turned around, somebody else was recommending Site Build It!. Even the Moms who wrote The WAHM Masters Course talk about it throughout their Ebook.

After a lot of research, I purchased Site Build It!, built my first website and haven’t looked back since. Thanks to my Affiliate Marketing home business, I no longer have trouble balancing work and home.

I feel good about the work I do, but I feel even better about the quality time I spend with family and friends. My only regret is that I did not do it sooner when my kids were younger.

If my story intrigues you, read the FREE eBooks (see Author’s box below) to help you decide if Affiliate Marketing is the stay at home Mom job for you.

About the Author:
