My wife is complaining that I do not make enough time for her. In all honesty I don’t see how I can squeeze more time out of my day. I don’t fish, hunt, play golf or do anything for myself, EVER. I go to work every day and go to the gym (3 days a week). I still arrive home before my wife, when I go to the gym. The rest of my time is spent with my family in some way. On the weekends, I am either with all or some of them the entire time. I do have a son (from a previous marriage) that I spend time with either in conjunction with and/or seperate from my wife. I have altered the things I used to do (not going to ball games, not spending as much time coaching my son’s ball teams, not going to the gym on the weekends, neglecting projects that need to be done at home). I attend EVERY one of her daughter’s events (whether they are plays, soccer games, PTA nights at school). But, it is never enough. I choose to do these things because my family is what makes me happy. What can I do?
When I refer to “my family”, it means my wife, my son, my step-daughter.
What really gets me is that her previous husband left her and her daughter for another woman. He always spent time away from them doing something (ie. fishing, spending time with his friends), and I don’t do any of those things. Am I not a world of difference better than what she had before? I just don’t feel she appreciates or is thankful for the man she has now!!!
mom blog

If you have been looking for a career and want to help people but just do not know exactly how you are supposed to help them maybe you should check out physical therapy assistant training. You could be working under the direction of a physical therapist after you finish school. This is a great career where you get to help all kinds of people as they heal. If you have been thinking about going into the health care field after you get your high school diploma then physical therapy assistant programs could be for you.

PTA requirements include the ability to work closely with all kinds of people, the desire to help people, an associate degree from an accredited college and in many states a license. This field is growing and there is a lot of employment opportunity.

The patients that you will work with will be there because of muscle, bone, nerve, or joint injuries. They are of every age group and it is your job to aide the physical therapist to relieve pain and reduce disability. You will also help to restore mobility to the patients. Some of the patients will have had some kind of trauma others may be there just because they are seeking relief from back pain.

Some of the jobs that physical therapy assistants do require physical strength, like help to lift a patient or move some equipment around. So just think every day when you go to work it will be like getting in your gym time.

Some of the tasks that a PTA can do in a day is applying cold or hot packs, giving massages, helping a patient learn and correctly perform exercises, and giving a paraffin bath and also doing ultrasounds. You will also help teach patients how to use things like crutches, wheelchairs, braces, and even prosthetic limbs.

As a physical therapy assistant you will come in close contact with many people very day and have a rewarding job that helps people to attain mobility and reduce pain in their lives. If you would like to change where you are right now in your life then getting some physical therapy assistant training and make a better life for yourself.

If you are trying to decide a career with your diploma fresh in hand this is great place to start because the classes are affordable, and the coursework can fit into your schedule easily. This is a great beginning to your education.

Louis Zhang, Physicaltherapyassistantprograms dot com
wedding sparklers

Trauma is the most common cause of acquired brain injury particularly in young people, of course there are other ways in which the brain can acquire injury, stroke is particularly common from middle age onwards then there are rarer conditions of the brain like infections and tumors. The brain is very sensitive to the amount of blood getting through to it, so anything which impedes the flow of blood to the brain or lowers oxygen to the brain, can damage it. Poisons in the blood, such as carbon monoxide from car fumes, can poison the brain. Finally there are treatments people can receive in good faith, which can damage the brain, a surgeon operating on the brain to remove a tumor can inadvertently damage it and radiation therapy, which is often used to treat malignant brain tumors, can damage the it especially in young people.

There are two broad guidelines to asses the severity of a brain injury. The first is how unconscious the patient is at their very worst, and this is measured with something called the Glasgow Coma Score, this is usually measured out of 15, 15 is fully conscious and three is as deeply unconscious as you can be and still be alive. The Glasgow Coma Score has three levels in it, one is to do with response to eye movement and eye opening, another is to do with response to speech, and the third is to do with response to movement. These three levels can all be given a number, and that gives you the total figure. Broadly speaking, any head injury in which the Glasgow Coma Score goes to eight or below is classified as a very severe brain injury.

The second things that’s used to asses the severity if a brain injury is what’s called the post traumatic amnesia (PTA), this is the period of time from the accident to when continuous memory returns. The PTA doesn’t shrink, so if a month after a head injury a person has a PTA of an hour, its still going to be an hour a year later. The PTA has a very close connection to time taken to get back to work and it’s also one of the factors in the risk of getting late traumatic epilepsy.

The temporal lobes, on either side of the brain, are concerned predominantly with memory, but they also have input into mood and emotions. The most devastating effect of serious damage to the temporal lobes is loss of memory, particularly the loss of short-term memory.

The occipital lobes at the back of the brain are where vision is perceived. They’re not often damaged in acquired brain injury, but when they are damaged, there can be very severe impairments of how the brain sees the world.
The cerebellum, at the back part of the head, controls coordination of movement and coordination of the muscles of the larynx (the voice box). If they’re damaged the injured person will be clumsy with their arms and their legs and their speech may also be slurred and clumsy, they may also have difficulty with swallowing too.

One of the most obvious problems that can develop from a brain injury is weakness of an arm or a leg or lack of coordination of an arm or a leg. Speech and language functions can be damaged either in terms of getting out words, understanding words or just in the mechanics of producing speech, so speech may become blurred or slurred. The special senses (hearing, vision, smell and taste) are not often damaged with the exception of smell, when smell is lost the finer points of taste are also lost.

When it comes to recovering from a brain injury there is no fixed period of time. The time is longer in children in the first 10 – 15 years of life. Essentially most recovery occurs in the first 18 months. A better way of looking at it is that when someone has reached the plateau and has remained at that plateau for six months, that’s probably how they’re going to stay.
woo themes templates

I’m currently attending college to get a degree in interpreting. I plan to work as soon as I graduate and continue…until I guess when I (get married and) start having children. [I'm not married or engaged right now].

But being/becoming a housewife is something that I would like to do once I start having children. I know the regular duties are Children’s Schooling/Sport Activities, Perhaps PTA or Home Schooling, Housecleaning, Shopping, Cooking, Laundry, Child Care, Pet Care, Helping children bathe, dress, etc. What else?

Right now I’m living at home..and I do some of those…Housecleaning, shopping, some cooking, laundry and sometimes taking care of my nephews.

Looking after children is a job within itself because you can’t take your eyes off the children for second. I wouldn’t be earning money but still working just as hard as if I was then (future). With all the ifs, (if we get married, if having children, ect) my boyfriend is very supportive and thinks it’s a great idea.
I just don’t know what or how to do everything yet and I was wondering if any of you have pointers or could tell me any of your experiences…what to do.
spring wedding favors

Right now, I’m a Physical Therapist Assistant. I passed a tough national exam (you have to score at least a 600 and I got 640 or 680 out of 800), and I have been working as a PTA for 6 months. My first year of college at the University of Oklahoma earned me a 3.65 GPA. The national exam I took was nothing like the course work I studied to become a PTA. I left feeling like I didn’t answer a single question right. Also, I only made a 23 or 24 on my ACT. I feel like I’m not very smart genetically speaking, but when given the proper material I easily become an expert. So… I was thinking… am I smart enough to become a Registered Nurse (the 4 year version, not the 2 year) or a Physician’s Assistant? I’m considering both.
About the Author:

I was wanting to get a nickname I had while I was in college and in a frat that I had inked on me covered. The artist did a great job, it is just that now I am older and all, it comes off as really really immature. It isn’t vulgar or racist or anything really negative, it is just that whenever you mature, having that might not be as cool. My fiance is not against tattoos or anything like that, just the idea that whenever we have kids and their friends and others (pta, scouts, sports, etc) are going to be very judgemental and really not see the professional that I am and all. Do you agree? I am not doing it for her, but she agreed with the thought whenever I came up with the idea of it. I know you are supposed to think about this stuff, but 19 yr old frat boys don’t. I wasn’t drunk or anything like that, but I had the attitude that I won’t take shit off of anybody.
manage resource box links
