Is there anybody that honestly thinks that if you can’t be a SAHM that you shouldn’t have children?

Ok, I’m feeling a little feisty today….so I just wanted to check to see if anybody honestly felt that way.
I’m a working mom and love my son very much. This is what works for our family. To each their own but this question annoyed me

“spoils” You are absolutely correct. The US needs better maternity leave so that more women have the choice to stay home if they want to. The key word would be “choice.”

Any good mommy-and-me type activity classes and/or workout DVDs for a young SAHM of a 2 month old baby boy?

My son and I just started our infant massage classes and so far we are both loving it!
He is very smiley, coo’ing through out the massage
I love having a new bonding activity will him and I love getting out of the house, being around other moms like me

When my son gets to be just a little bit older (like maybe 4-5 months) I was planning on enrolling us in Signing Smart as well as baby yoga.
But besides that, I’m not really sure what types of classes there are out there, and which ones are fun vs which ones are not so much fun.

I’m also on the lookout for a good mommy-and-me type workout DVD.
Since having my son, I haven’t really gained weight, however I have lost muscle tone and while my husband has been doing postnatal workouts with me, it’d be nice if I could fine a workout routine that somehow incorporated my son.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

How to conversate all day with baby when you are a sahm?

I know it sounds simple but I am drained. I am a stay at home mom who’s husband works on a ship so I am so tired. How to a play and conversate all day? How do other moms get household chores done and time with their babies all day?
Masielle2 – Seriously? I did mention how tired I was/am do you truly believe your english lesson was necessary?

And to everyone else thanks a lot.

Added info if necessary:
Evan is 6 months and 3 weeks old. He rarely naps longer than 15 minutes if ever at all. And I just moved into a new home so I have 20x the chores (unpacking)

ugghhhh why do i feel so guilty about wanting to quit work to be a SAHM?

usually it’s the OPPOSITE — that i SHOULDNT feel guilty feeling that way. my husband i work opposite schedules so we dont need a sitter but we both hardly get any sleep and i am hating my job and when i come home, i feel like i dont have any control over my 6 month’s day and i have no idea what he has been doing all day or when he ate or napped…. i would love to just stay home but i feel guilty like i am making my husband miss out on his son’s life if he got a 2nd job to make up for my lost income… and i dont have the balls to just go in and say “sorry, i quit” i feel so guilty and i told myself i would put my son first when i was pregnant with him, and now i feel like work comes first.
“…. 6 month’s day…” = referring to my 6 month old.

What sacrifices have you made (or would you be willing to make) to be a SAHM?

And what wouldn’t you sacrifice?

My husband and I have recently had to make some hard choices in order for me to continue to stay home with our daughter.

Looking for affordable housing was like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Mostly things in our price range were in very poor condition or in a bad neighborhood. Those were things we didn’t feel we could sacrifice.

On the other hand, we let go of things we were accustomed to – a spacious house/garage/washer&dryer/internet etc. And we are going to be on a tight budget – and we already thought we were tight!

What have you given up, and what are the ways you scrimp to make it?

I work as a nanny and my job ends when the little girl Starts Pre-school in Ocotber, that is also when my husband and I are having our first…

My husband said it would be cheaper in the long run for me to stay home and besides who will hire a Pregnant person at 9 months anyway..
I only bring in about 200 dollars a week and were looking at ways to cut back.

My car is paid off and his will be in about a year with is 300 dollars, we pay 300 dollars a month in Car insurance, 800 mortgage, 75 Cable/Internet for his work, 80 for cell, 300-400 for food, Pet food and other things related to them and our Utilities go up and down depending on the seasons…And with that Said my husband makes commission anywhere from 600-1000 a week..

And now having a baby, we need a way to figure out where can we cut our budget? Any advice.
